The Effect of Capital Structure on Profitability and Financial Leverage, Research Proposal
This paper seeks to extend Rafique’s (2011) findings regarding the effect of capital structure on profitability and financial leverage by examining the effect of capital structure on profitability and financial leverage of the Kuwaiti industrial firms. A sample of 10 Kuwaiti firms listed on Kuwait Stock Exchange for a period of 4 years from 2010 – 2013 was selected. The expected results of the study indicate that in the industrial sector of Kuwait, profitability of firms are insignificant in bringing about any changes in their capital structure in, contrast with the financial leverage.
