China's pesticide industry is experiencing steady growth, but it continues to struggle with low industrial concentration and unreasonable resource allocation.
China is ramping up pesticide regulation by phasing out obsolete and highly toxic products while promoting bio-pesticides and safer alternatives. New policies and industry adjustments are aimed at advancing green agricultural practices and improving pesticide management.
From H2 2023 to H1 2024, 18 selected listed pesticide companies completed 62 asset restructuring deals, including 26 mergers and acquisitions (M&As), 21 capital increases, and 15 subsidiary establishments.
From H2 2023 to H1 2024, China's pesticide industry experienced 26 M&As, all involving business transfers and acquisitions.
From H2 2023 to H1 2024, Guizhou Province was the leading investment destination for domestic pesticide companies' restructurings, followed by Hubei provinces. During this period, China's outbound investment in the pesticide industry totalled USD27.87 million.
During H2 2023–H1 2024, the selected public companies engaged in 15 cases for subsidiary establishment and 21 ones for capital increase in their subsidiaries.
In H1 2024, 27 restructuring deals (M&A, subsidiary establishment and capital increase) took place in China, participated by selected listed companies in pesticides. The number is expected to climb up in H2 2024.
