Spain saw an overall improvement in economic conditions in 2016. As consumers started to revert back to pre-recession behaviour, larger and more economical pack sizes fell out of favour in confectionery, while smaller formats became more visible on retail shelves and in the portfolios of leading manufacturers. This trend was most evident in chocolate confectionery, where major players like Nestle Espana SA and Ferrero Iberica SA made a number of their products available in smaller pack sizes.

Euromonitor International's Confectionery Packaging in Spain report offers insight into key trends and developments driving packaging across the category. The report also examines trends and prospect for various pack types and closures: metal packaging, rigid plastic, glass, liquid cartons, paper-based containers; flexible packaging.

Product coverage: Chocolate Confectionery, Gum, Sugar Confectionery.
