In November 2004, Apollo Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company acquired 100% interest in Parsons E&C Corporation, a global engineering design and project services company. In July 2004, WorleyParsons Engineering Pty Limited acquired 50% interest in the Worley Chemical Engineering Technology Co Limited of China. The Company provides various project design and management services to international and Chinese clients.

In March 2005 WorleyParsons Singapore Holding Pte Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, acquired 100% interest in Development Resources Pte Limited (DRPL). DRPL provides various multi-disciplinary services to clients in the Singapore and regional power and utilities industries. In August 2005, the company acquired the remaining 50% interest in WorleyParsons MEG Limited.

The company provides engineering design, project services, maintenance and reliability support services to a number of markets. Its also include infrastructure developments within the Power sector. The company operates in four business segments: Hydrocarbons, Power, Minerals & Metals and Infrastructure. The Hydrocarbons segment incorporates the Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals and Chemicals business units.

HYDROCARBONS

Upstream

The company delivers engineering and project management services to the upstream hydrocarbons industry globally. Its service capability covers the entire project lifecycle: from identifying the opportunity to the operating phase.

Downstream

The company delivers engineering and project management services to the downstream hydrocarbons industry globally. Its service capability covers the entire project lifecycle: from identifying the opportunity to the operating phase. The company’s downstream hydrocarbons capability comprises - Refining, Sulphur Management, and Chemicals and Petrochemicals. Its projects have involved various petrochemicals, including: methanol, synthesis gas, ammonia, olefines, resins, plastics, and elastomers.

POWER

In 2003 WorleyParsons announced the acquisition of Development Resources Pte Ltd (DRPL), the engineering and project services group of Singapore Power. DRPL provides various multi-disciplinary services to clients in the Singapore and regional power and utilities industries. The company owns and operates niche power plants designed to supply energy to remote rural communities.

Projects

Elk Hills Power Project: The company in a joint venture with The Industrial Company (TIC) operates as Merchant Power Engineers & Constructors (MPEC), is performing engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) for the Elk Hills Power Project, a 500 MW (nominal) 2-on-1, combined cycle merchant plant. Its client is Sempra Energy Resources/Occidental Energy Ventures.
