Vantage Drilling Company, an international drilling company, focuses on operating a fleet of drilling units. The companys primary business is to contract drilling units, related equipment and work crews primarily on a dayrate basis to drill oil and natural gas wells for customers.
The company also provides construction supervision services for, and would operate and manage, drilling units owned by others. Through a fleet of nine owned and managed drilling units, the company provides offshore contract drilling services to national and independent oil and natural gas companies.
The companys fleet includes four ultra-premium jackup rigs, three ultra-deepwater drillships, and two deepwater semisubmersibles.
Jackups: The design of The companys four jackup rigs is the Baker Marine Pacific Class 375. These units are with independent legs capable of drilling in up to 375 feet of water, a cantilever drilling floor, and a vertical drilling depth capacity of approximately 30,000 feet.
Drillships: Drillships are self-propelled, and suited for drilling in remote locations because of their mobility and large load carrying capacity. The drillships are designed for drilling in water depths of up to 12,000 feet, with a total vertical drilling depth capacity of up to 40,000 feet. The drillships hull design has a variable deck load of approximately 20,000 tons and measures 781 feet long by 137 feet wide.
Semisubmersibles: The design of the two semisubmersibles that the company would manage is the Moss Maritime CS50 MkII. These drilling units are designed to be capable of operating in harsh environmental conditions.
