Petronet LNG Limited engages in importing liquefied natural gas (LNG) and operating LNG terminals in India. The company imports LNG from Qatar. It operates LNG receiving and regasification terminal with the capacity of 5 MMTPA which is equivalent to 20 MMSCMD of natural gas, with a provision for expansion up to 10 MMTPA at Dahej, India. The company is in the process of setting up another terminal at Kochi in Kerala with the capacity of 2.5 MMTPA.

The company markets regasified LNG in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab through the HBJ Pipeline network. Petronet LNG has strategic partnership with GAZ de France. The company’s major supplier is Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company, Ltd.

Significant Events

Petronet LNG, Ltd. has signed a joint venture agreement with the Adani Enterprises, Ltd. for setting up a solid cargo port at the Dahej SEZ. The joint venture has been incorporated as Adani Petronet (Dahej) Pvt, Ltd, in which the initial equity ratio would be 50:50.
