The companys sheet glass and processed glass products for architectural use are manufactured domestically at three plants. Northwestern Industries, Inc. of Seattle, Washington manufactures processed glass for architectural use; while in China, Beijing Sanchong Mirror Co., Ltd. makes and sells mirror products.
Architectural glass products are divided into various categories: float glass, polished wired glass made with its Duplex method, figured glass (including figured wired glass) made with the roll-out method. These basic types of glass are further processed into value-added products offering heat-insulation and heat-shielding properties, design appeal, and added safety features. It also offers float glass, polished wired glass, and figured glass. The companys insulating glass unit, which offers superior energy conservation performance, has hitherto made inroads mainly in the market for detached houses, it has also come to be increasingly used in multistory commercial buildings, as well as in condominium or rental apartment buildings.
The companys glass used for automotive glass is produced domestically at its Matsuzaka Plant. The companys wholly owned subsidiary Central Kasei Chemical Co., Ltd. handles the production of fertilizer. The company produces ammonium chloride in simple, non-compound form as a nitrogenous fertilizer, mainly for rice cultivation, and also sells it in compound form. It supplies a compound fertilizer containing ammonium chloride, phosphoric acid, and potassium chloride. The company also sells NK fertilizer, a mixture of ammonium chloride and potassium chloride. These products are sold via agricultural cooperatives throughout Japan.
