Key findings (Word)

This the second edition of CCM's trade analysis report on SOF, covering production and trade situation from Jan. 2008 to Jun. 2009. In this edition we mainly update trade data of SOF,the analysis and depth is similar to the first version. By the end of June 2009, only three manufacturers have commercially produced Fanglun 1313 in China, and Fanglun 1414 has not achieved industrial production yet. Moreover, a new HSPE fiber manufacturer (Guangdong Shinda UHMWPE Fiber Co., Ltd.) has gone into operation in early 2009. In Q2 2009, the trade situation of HSPE fiber and unidirectional sheets are similar to Q1 2009. While in Q2 2009 the Fanglun 1313’s import exceeded export because of growing domestic demand. And Fanglun 1414 mainly relies on import at present.

The first version: Jan. 2008~March 2009

Special organic fibers (SOF) are fibers with one or more of the following properties such as high strength, high modules, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, radialisation resistance, etc., mainly including high strength PE fiber (HSPE fiber), aramid fiber, high strength polyvinyl alcohol fiber (HSPVA fiber), polybenzoimidazole fiber (PBI fiber) and so on.

After about forty years' development, China's SOF industry has achieved great progress. What is the current SOF production situation in China? And who are the major manufacturers?

Besides satisfying the domestic demand, Chinese SOF has also entered foreign market. Under the global financial crisis, what are the significant changes in export/import of major SOF products in 2008-June 2009? This report will provide:
- Import and export situation of HSPE fiber in 2008-June 2009
- IE analysis of aramid fiber in 2008-June 2009
- IE analysis of unidirectional sheets in 2008-June 2009
