The product is obtained from soybeans chemically or mechanically in the presence of hexane. Lecithin extracted from soybeans is considered commercial lecithin that is available in granules, pills, paste.

Soya lecithin demonstrates excellent emulsification properties and is widely used in the food industry to keep ingredients of various products from falling apart. Soya lecithin is utilized as an additive in snack, canned, instant foods and can be found in dough, butter, chocolate, cereal, dairy products, noodles, etc. Moreover, lecithin may be found in cosmetic products such as hair conditioners, skin moisturizers and in prescription medications.
