L-(-)-Carnitine HCl, otherwise known as levocarnitine chloride, L-cartin, Vitamin- BT, L-Carnitine hydrochloride, etc. is a neuromodulator and anti-aging agent that occurs as a white to slightly beige solid with the molecular formula C7H16ClNO3 and molecular weight 197.65. L-(-)-Carnitine HCl has a melting point of 142 В°C. The product dissolves in water, but it is insoluble in acetone and only slightly soluble in ethanol.

L-(-)-Carnitine HCl is widely employed in medicine, health food additives, feedstuff additives. The product plays a significant role in fatty acid transport across mitochondrial membranes. Moreover, L-(-)-Carnitine HCl is a miscellaneous skin-conditioning, aqueous viscosity-increasing and surfactant cleaning agent. The product is highly suitable for liquid applications due to its hygroscopic properties.
