Mei Luo Fu has announced that it plans to raise funds for the construction of a 500 t/a pyraclostrobin TC project and a 300 t/a clothianidin TC project. The company is also planning to build 200 t/a thiabendazole TC and 600 t/a thifluzamide TC projects in the future.

Anhui Huajin, a newly founded enterprise, has announced that it will invest USD1 58.62 million (RMB1 billion) in constructing 500 t/a of fungicides TC, 4,650 t/a of insecticides TC, 1,200 t/a of herbicides TC and 6,000 t/a of fine chemicals. Monsanto has disclosed its product R&D plan for 2018, with pest prevention and control technologies included. Judging from these technologies, corn, soybean and cotton will be the important crops to be protected. Recently, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces have released successively their schemes regarding the relocation and upgrade of hazardous chemical producers in cities' populated areas. According to their schemes, by the year of 2025, companies producing hazardous chemicals in Guangdong and Jiangsu but not in accordance with relevant standards shall upgrade themselves to meet the standards, or move into the chemical parks, or even completely withdraw from the market.

The prices of major insecticides TC remain high in Feb., due to tightened supply of raw materials. The price of pesticides is predicted to further rise in China in H1 2018, given the fact that prices of raw materials and pesticides technical remain high.

China exported an almost same volume of imidacloprid in the first eleven months of 201 7 as in 2016. Last year, most of listed agrochemical enterprises saw an improved financial performance in 2017 compared with that of last year. This was mainly due to a recovered domestic pesticide market. It is predicted that these enterprises will see their net profit keep rising in 2018 when the price of pesticides is increasing. Big-scale enterprises will definitely take a larger market share through M&A.

There were eight insecticides TC registered in China in Jan. 2018, with six active ingredients involved. These registrations were obtained by eight enterprises. Notably, one active ingredient saw even three registrations.

The MOA preliminarily ruled that there was dumping of meta phenoxy benzaldehyde originating in India and the domestic industry of meta phenoxy benzaldehyde was substantially damaged.
