Deltamethrin exists as a white, odorless solid that has the molecular formula C22H19Br2NO3 and molecular weight 505.19. The boiling point of deltamethrin is 300В°C.
Deltamethrin is used in the products that are utilized to combat with a wide range of insects such as flies, locusts, grass hoppers, thrips, mites, ants, weevils, beetles, moths, aphids, mealy bugs, white fly and mosquitoes. Deltamethrin is effective in treating target organisms through ingestion and contact. The products in which deltamethrin can be found are used in agriculture, on golf courses, ornamental gardens, and lawns, indoor plants and pet collars. The product can be used on over 150 types of crops such as cotton, corn, cereals, rice, fruit, etc.
Deltamethrin is considered to be dangerous for the environment. It can pose risks to mammals and the ecosystem. The product can cause numbness, itching, tingling, and burning of the skin and vertigo. Direct contact with deltamethrin can result in tears, eye irritation, sensitivity to light and swelling of the eyes.
