A level translator IC, also referred to as a level shifter or voltage level translator, is an interface device designed to solve digital signal incompatibility between different supply voltage domains within the same system. By using dual supply ports or a switch based structure, it converts logic levels safely between low voltage and higher voltage nodes while preserving timing and signal integrity as much as possible.
