The 3.2T optical module industry chain consists of upstream high-speed chips and optical devices, midstream module manufacturing and packaging, and downstream AI and cloud computing applications. The upstream sector includes high-speed DSP/SerDes chips, lasers and modulators, and silicon photonics chip platforms; the midstream consists of optical module manufacturers responsible for packaging, testing, and mass production; and the downstream comprises AI and cloud infrastructure providers, including NVIDIA, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud, for next-generation GPU cluster interconnects and hyperscale data center upgrades.

3.2T optical modules are a key transitional technology for the evolution of AI computing networks from 1.6T to higher bandwidth, driven by the continuous expansion of large-scale model training and the increase in GPU cluster density. As 800G and 1.6T gradually enter the large-scale deployment stage, data center traffic is growing exponentially, making 3.2T an inevitable upgrade direction for future rack-level interconnects. Prototype verification and small-scale trial commercialization are expected between 2026 and 2028, with large-scale deployment after 2028. In the long term, 3.2T will not only increase single-port bandwidth but also drive network architecture towards CPO and higher integration, making it one of the core nodes of the 'bandwidth revolution' in AI infrastructure.
