Its external construction features a ruggedized sheet-metal chassis, often equipped with front-panel power and status indicators, replaceable dust filters, or a lockable bezel door, and is secured into a standard server cabinet via slide rails and rack-mount ears. Internally, the system integrates an industrial-grade motherboard and CPU—predominantly x86-based—alongside memory (ECC optional), storage drives (SSD or HDD, RAID configurable), power supplies (redundant options available), and a multi-fan cooling architecture with serviceable air filters. Comprehensive I/O and expansion capabilities include serial ports, digital I/O, Ethernet, USB, and PCI/PCIe expansion slots. Based on application requirements, Rackmount Industrial PCs can be categorized into general-purpose control and data acquisition units, multi-expansion controller and measurement platforms, and edge computing or AI inference GPU-accelerated industrial computers.
