Traditional telecom, PON and 5G fronthaul applications continue to provide a stable demand base, but the main incremental value is now being created by AI data-center interconnects, 800G and 1.6T transceivers, silicon photonics external light sources and co-packaged optics. Since high-speed EMLs and high-power CW DFB lasers carry much higher chip-level value than conventional FP or low-speed DFB products, the market?s revenue mix is shifting from high-volume low-ASP chips toward high-speed, high-power and high-reliability light-source chips. Coherent?s InP optoelectronics portfolio, including 100G and 200G EML chips, also indicates that advanced InP light sources remain central to next-generation 800G, 1.6T and higher-speed optical links.
