Specifically, it uses a high-energy laser beam to trigger a fusion reaction (usually fusion between light atomic nuclei), releasing neutrons during the fusion process. A laser fusion neutron source uses a high-intensity laser beam as an energy source, which is focused and irradiated onto a fusion material (such as a target material composed of light atomic nuclei such as deuterium and tritium). Under the irradiation of the laser, the fusion material is heated and compressed to extremely high temperatures and densities, thereby triggering a fusion reaction. During the fusion reaction, light atomic nuclei fuse into heavy atomic nuclei, while releasing a large amount of energy and neutrons. The neutrons produced by the fusion reaction have high energy and speed and can be used in various scientific research and applications.
