Compared with thermal or adsorption-based recovery, membrane units are valued for compact design, lower energy use, continuous operation and easier integration with condensation, compression or absorption processes. The chain covers polymer or inorganic membrane materials, hollow-fiber or flat-sheet membrane modules, compressors, vacuum pumps, condensers, pressure vessels and controls, then extends to petrochemical, natural gas, biogas, solvent recovery, carbon capture and specialty gas users.
