2012 was a poor year for the international textile yarn machinery market. Shipments of long staple spindles rose, but there were falls in shipments of short staple spindles, open-end rotors, double heater false-twist draw texturing machinery and single heater false-twist draw texturing machinery. Shipments of double heater false-twist spindles also declined, and there were no shipments of single heater false-twist spindles. There were declines in deliveries to the textile industries in several individual countries. Shipments to China, India and Turkey fell in the case of short staple spindles, open-end rotors and double heater false-twist draw texturing spindles. However, shipments to the textile industry in Thailand rose sharply in the case of short staple spindles, long staple spindles and double heater false-twist draw texturing spindles. Shipments to the textile industries in Germany and South Africa, meanwhile, rose in the case of long staple spindles, open-end rotors and double heater false-twist draw texturing spindles. This 39-page report analyses trends in the international textile yarn machinery market, and includes a statistical appendix which contains detailed information about installed capacities and shipments of spinning machines - by type, region and selected country.
