Profiles of 21 Taiwanese Performance Textile Companies
Taiwan has become one of the world's leading suppliers of functional textiles as a result of significant investments in research and development (R&D) and cutting-edge technologies. Indeed, the Taiwanese government is encouraging further development in the industry and is striving for it to become a fashion design centre for the Asia-Pacific region. Every year, the latest innovations from Taiwanese textile companies are showcased at the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS). The author of the report attended the most recent edition of TITAS – which was held in Taipei, Taiwan, during October 17-19, 2016 – where she interviewed exhibitors and identified the key players. This report includes an overview of the Taiwanese textile industry and the challenges and opportunities it faces.
