As of January 30, 2010, the company operated 758 stores located in 39 states. It operates its stores under the five names of Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles, and Stage.

The company's merchandising activities are conducted from its headquarters in Houston, Texas (the Houston Division) and from its South Hill, Virginia administrative offices (the South Hill Division). As of January 30, 2010, the Houston Division was responsible for 470 stores located primarily in the South Central, Southeastern, Southwestern and Northwestern states, bearing all five nameplates Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles ,and Stage. The South Hill Division was responsible for 288 stores located primarily in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwestern, Southeastern, and Northeastern states, bearing the nameplates Goody’s, Peebles and Stage.

The company offers a selection of branded merchandise with in distinct merchandise categories, such as women's, men's and children's apparel, as well as accessories, cosmetics, and footwear. The merchandise selection ranges from basics, including denim, underwear and foundations, to more upscale and fashionable clothing offerings.

The company's private label portfolio includes several brands, which are developed and sourced through its membership in Associated Merchandising Corporation and Li-Fung Cooperative Buying Services, as well as through contracts with third party vendors.
