In 2014, RYO tobacco dominated smoking tobacco with retail volume and value sales of 553 tonnes and Bt252 million, following growth of 1% and 2%, respectively. Meanwhile, retail volume sales of pipe tobacco grew by 1% to reach only four tonnes though current value sales rose by 4% to reach Bt38 million. Pipe tobacco recorded higher retail volume and value growth than RYO tobacco throughout the review period, largely due to a much lower sales base.
