PGG LIVESTOCK is made up of 100 Livestock Representatives who are located throughout the South Island. PGG Livestock has three specialist divisions PGG Dairy, PGG Studstock, and PGG Deer. PGG representatives ensure the marketing of all livestock, including dairy, deer and studstock. This includes sales and purchases being made internationally with a number of established contacts.

PGG Dairy: is made up of fifteen dairy representatives who offer a variety of services from: Herd Sales, Procurement or Marketing all Dairy Stock by Private Treaty or Auction, On Farm Dairy Auction Specialists, Bull selection or replacement, Competitive cull cow disposal, Winter or Summer Grazing contracts - Long or Short Term, Feeder calf rearing contracts, Bobby Calf Marketing - for Dairy Meats NZ Limited, Genetic advice and Financial assistance.

PGG Deer: are procurement agents for all live deer including Auction and Private Sale. PGG Deer also owns the only licensed deer selling complex in New Zealand, (Insignis Park, Christchurch), the company offers on farm feasibility studies and are the principal agents for PGG Velpool.

PGG Studstock: has two specialist agents based in the South Island for advice on genetic selection for both sheep and cattle. Buying, selling by Private Treaty or Auction and the sourcing of bloodlines to suit farmers needs throughout New Zealand.

PGG Velpool

PGG Velpool first offered marketing services for the sale of velvet (frozen deer antler) to the New Zealand deer farmer in 1989 and quickly established a reputation in the velvet industry in national and international markets.

Significant Events

On October 16, 2009, PGG Wrightson Limited and Agria Corporation announced their signing of an agreement that provides for Agria to make an investment in PGG Wrightson and for the formation of a strategic partnership between PGG Wrightson and Agria.
