On-trade beer sales continued to grow strongly in 2022, while off-trade sales saw moderate growth. This was due to the lifting of all remaining COVID-19 restrictions in February 2022. As such, total volume sales of beer saw positive growth, with consumers returning to on-trade outlets in greater numbers. Restrictions on on-trade outlets in 2020 dealt a heavy blow to on-trade beer sales, but as restrictions were fully lifted, sales have seen a significant recovery.
