It is mainly used in advanced lithium batteries, solid-state batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries and supercapacitors. The product excludes conventional aluminum foil, copper foil and finished battery electrodes.

The upstream industry includes carbon fibers, carbon precursors, polymer materials, conductive additives and processing chemicals. Midstream covers porous structure fabrication, carbonization, graphitization, surface modification, cutting and quality inspection. Downstream applications include lithium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries, sodium-ion batteries and supercapacitors. Market demand is driven by next-generation battery technologies and increasing requirements for lightweight, high-energy-density energy storage materials.
