RF LC Filters, also called LTCC RF Filters, are chip-type passive RF filtering components manufactured on a low temperature co-fired ceramic platform. They integrate conductive patterns, inductive and capacitive structures, transmission lines, ground layers, and coupling structures inside a multilayer ceramic body to pass the target RF band while attenuating unwanted frequencies, harmonics, and out-of-band interference. Compared with SAW, BAW, and FBAR filters, LTCC RF Filters are not acoustic-resonator devices; they are multilayer ceramic passive networks optimized for compact SMD assembly, repeatable mass production, high mechanical robustness, stable temperature behavior, and module-level integration. Murata defines LC filters as passive components that pass or block specific frequency bands and are used to extract desired bands or attenuate noise, and it explicitly refers to high-performance LTCC packaged products based on multilayer ceramic integration technology. TDK also states that its RF filters use LTCC technology and are available across variations in frequency, size, terminal structure, and specifications.

By product type, the three most important LTCC RF Filter categories are Band Pass Filters (BPF), Low Pass Filters (LPF), and High Pass Filters (HPF). BPF products are mainly used to select specific communication bands and reject adjacent-band interference in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, GNSS, 5G NR, Sub-GHz IoT, and other RF front-end paths; they generally carry higher technical and application value due to frequency selectivity and rejection requirements. LPF products are primarily used for harmonic suppression and out-of-band emission control, helping wireless terminals and modules meet regulatory and system-level RF performance requirements. HPF products remove low-frequency interference and are often used together with BPF, LPF, diplexer, or triplexer structures. In addition to these three core categories, the product scope also includes LTCC balanced filters, diplexers, triplexers, balun filters, and filter arrays. Johanson Technology lists ceramic SMD LTCC BPF products covering 400MHz to 40GHz with low insertion loss, high attenuation, and compact packages, while Microgate lists LTCC low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, diplexer, triplexer, and balun-filter products in its LTCC device line.

From an application perspective, LTCC RF Filters are mainly used in smartphones and mobile terminals, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Zigbee/UWB modules, IoT devices, 5G CPE and small cells, automotive wireless connectivity, industrial wireless systems, medical wearables, smart-home equipment, routers, gateways, and selected high-frequency communication equipment. Demand growth is driven less by simple device shipment expansion and more by the increasing number of wireless bands, coexistence between communication standards, miniaturization of antennas and RF front ends, and tighter requirements for harmonic suppression and adjacent-band isolation.
