Trifluoroiodomethane can be used as a semiconductor etching gas, insulation and arc extinguishing gas for electrical equipment, fire extinguishing agent, refrigerant, etc. In addition, trifluoroiodomethane can also interact with organometallic reagents and is an important fluorinated intermediate for introducing fluoromethyl groups in organic synthesis. It can be widely used in fields such as organic synthesis, biochemistry, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, surfactants, and dyes.
