Supercritical Foaming Materials are cellular materials produced by dissolving a supercritical fluid?most commonly supercritical carbon dioxide or supercritical nitrogen?into a material system and then inducing nucleation and growth of cells to form a porous structure under controlled conditions.

From an upstream perspective, the key raw materials of Supercritical Foaming Materials are polymer matrices and formulation packages rather than the process equipment itself. Downstream, these materials are mainly used in packaging and protective cushioning, automotive and transportation, building insulation and acoustics, sports/leisure and footwear, and medical fields.
