Magnesium hydroxide flame retardant is a white or off-white crystalline powder. It mainly releases bound water when it is decomposed by heat and absorbs a large amount of latent heat to reduce the surface temperature of the synthetic material it fills in the flame, thereby achieving a flame retardant effect.

Magnesium hydroxide will decompose when heated (generally at 340-490?), absorbing heat from the surface of the burning material, thereby achieving a flame retardant effect. The large amount of water vapor released during the decomposition process can dilute the oxygen on the surface of the fuel and further inhibit combustion. The active magnesium oxide generated by the decomposition will adhere to the surface of the combustible material to form a protective layer to prevent combustion.

Magnesium hydroxide flame retardant does not produce any harmful substances during the entire flame retardant process, and the decomposition product magnesium oxide has stable chemical properties and will not cause secondary pollution. Magnesium hydroxide flame retardant can also absorb harmful gases and smoke generated during the combustion process, and has a smoke suppression effect.
