Carbon fiber is an inorganic fiber with a carbon content of more than 95%. It is made of different raw materials through polymerization, spinning, oxidation, and high-temperature carbonization. High-performance carbon fiber material is an advanced composite material, mainly composed of carbon fibers embedded in a matrix material (usually a polymer) to form a composite material. According to the type of raw materials, carbon fibers mainly include three types: polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers, viscose-based carbon fibers, and asphalt-based carbon fibers. Among them, polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers, which use petrochemical product acrylonitrile as the main raw material, account for more than 90% of the world's total carbon fiber production and are the main source of high-performance carbon fibers.

High-performance carbon fiber materials have both the high strength of carbon materials and the softness and processability of fiber textile materials. Because of their various excellent properties, high-performance carbon fiber materials are widely used and have become important supporting materials in high-end equipment such as aerospace, power, and transportation, major infrastructure projects, and new energy.
