The feed binders market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 3.4% from 2019 to 2025.

The global feed binders market size is estimated to account for a value of USD 4.8 billion in 2019 and is projected to grow at a CAGR 3.4% from 2019, to reach a value of USD 5.9 billion by 2025. The demand for feed binders is rising due to the increasing meat consumption, growing awareness toward animal health, and rising meat production. To maintain structural integrity and reduce the loss of feed ingredients, feed manufacturers use feed binders to maintain the high-quality of the meat products.

The clay segment, on the basis of type, is projected to be the largest segment during the forecast period.

By type, the clay segment is projected to hold the largest share in the feed binders market. Clay binders are effective for producing high-quality and durable feed products. Feed manufacturers are actively opting for feed binders due to its water absorption properties to reduce wet droppings. Moreover, a small amount of bentonite (clay) is enough to manufacture tougher, harder, and more durable pellets. Thus, clay is projected to witness significant demand over the years.

The poultry segment to witness the fastest growth during the forecast period.

By livestock, the feed binders market is segmented into poultry, ruminants, swine, and others (aquatic animals, pet animals, and equines). The per capita consumption of poultry meat is significantly higher than that of beef and pork due to the increased breeding of poultry birds and rising prices of red meat products as compared to poultry. The poultry sector is witnessing a shift in focus toward high-quality compound feed products due to the development of organized farm sectors. This has led to the increased usage of binders by poultry feed manufacturers to ensure the supply of high-quality and value-added feed products.

Asia Pacific is projected to grow at the highest CAGR during the forecast period

Asia Pacific is the fastest-growing region in the feed binders market due to the presence of some of the primary compound feed, feed additives, and feed binder producers in the world, such as China and India. Most of the South East Asian countries also focus on the production of feed binders due to the growing livestock population. The increasing trend of meat consumption in the Asia Pacific region has also led to the rise in the production of feed binders.

TABLE 126 AGREEMENTS & JOINT VENTURES, 2015

Feed  additives  are  products  used in  animal  nutrition in  order  to  enhance  the  quality  of  the feed. This in turn helps in strengthening the animal’s health and performance. They are the supplements added to the feed to make the feed more nutritious and easily consumable. In other  words,  feed  additives  are  those  very  small  amounts  of  nutritive  or  non–nutritive substances  that  supplement  the  feed  such  that  it  satisfies  the  requirements  of  the  animal. There are various types of additives with specific functions and properties, for example, the additives  with  rich  starch  content (corn,  wheat,  and  others)  are  used to  improve  the  water stability by gelatinization. Thus, the additives that are added to bind the different feed particles together  and  to  make  it  more  nutritious  are  called  binders.  In  the  present  scenario,  North America and Asia-Pacific are the two of the largest consumers of feed binders. The growth is particularly high in developing countries such as China and India, because of the increase in the per capita income as well as the improving standards of living.

Asia-Pacific  accounted  for  around  XX%of  the  total  market  share  in  2012.Its  market  is estimated to grow at a CAGR of XX%.With estimated revenue of $XX million in 2013 , the total feed  binder  market  is  projected  to  be  worth  $XX  million  by  2018.  The  market  of  ROW  is growing at a CAGR of XX% for the period under review. By 2018, it is projected to reach $XX million. As it is a growing market and people are shifting towards nutritional diet, subsequently pressing on better meat quality, ROW had a market share of around XX% in 2012.

The  feed  industry  in  Italy  is  on  a  verge  of  declination.  The  dependence  of  the  industry  on imported raw materials is not a good sign. The cost of the raw materials the feed has increased greatly, affecting feed binder market. The local players do not find opportunity to manufacture the binders and other additives on a large scale as a large amount of raw material is imported.

The  cattle  and  pig  feed  industry  is  not  making  any  developments;  it  is,  rather,  declining. However, it is only the poultry feed industry that has recorded a very minor improvement in the industry.

The feed binder market in Italy is matured. The natural feed binder market is projected to earn revenue of $XX million by 2018, which is around XX% of the total market. The total Italian feed binder market is projected to grow at a CAGR of XX% up to2018.The projected CAGRs of natural and synthetic binders were XX% and XX%, respectively. The growing population, increase in the per capita income, and urbanization in the Asia-Pacific region has accelerated the consumption of animal products. This has helped in the growth of the feed binder industry in the region. Due to these reasons the Asia-Pacific region is a growing market with respect to the feed binder industry. Being the largest region, consumers belong to various economic strata, due to which they have varying food habits and demands. This results in the different types of demands from end consumers. With the rise in the demand of meat, consumers’ preference for healthy meat is also increasing. Ensuring the meat consumers that they have been provided with good quality meat, it becomes necessary to feed the animals with proper nutritious feed. To give the feed a proper pelleted form, binders play a vital role.

Asia-Pacific continues to maintain its lead position with respect to revenue.

The  Chinese  market  dominates  the  Asia-Pacific  feed  binder  market  with  an  estimated  $XX million in 2013 and is projected to be $XX million by2018, growing at the highest CAGR of XX%. It is estimated to account for about XX% share of the total market in 2013.The Indian feed binder market is estimated to grow at the CAGR of XX% for the period under review. By 2018,Asia-Pacific feed binder market is projected to reach $XX million.
