The Europe material handling market is estimated to grow from US$44.263 billion in 2019 to US$56.483 billion by 2025, at a CAGR of 3.86% over the forecast period. The material handling market comprises of tools and mechanical systems that are used for retrieving, storing and transporting goods and materials, among others within manufacturing and warehousing facilities. These sets of equipment are primarily installed as well as used in areas where it is unviable for implementing manual labor. These sets of equipment mainly find their applications in activities such as transporting, storage, packaging, assembly and in cases where the goods are required be restacked form one area to another. As the world witnesses a growing requirement business transaction that is happening every day, the requiem of manufacturing, warehousing as well as fulfillment centers are also increasing due to the rapidly growing eCommerce industry. To this end, these sets of equipment provide a swift, efficient and precise means of transporting goods. Growing Investments by the players to improve market position

For instance, in January 2020 Fortna, a leading global automation, engineering services, and software company, is set to acquire the Hamburg based Pierau Planung that is renowned for providing industry-leading supply chain consulting services to great variety of clients all over the world, that belong to a range of end-markets, that is inclusive of but not limited to e-commerce, food & beverage, industrial distribution and retail. Fortna’s rationale behind is to leverage Pierau Planung’s robust client base and their renowned supply chain and logistics expertise. Among others, the expertise of Pierau Planung lies in the development of transformative automation and logistics.

Another notable expansion is that of Newcastle Systems, which is a leading mobile-powered workplace solution. Its expertise lies in transforming manufacture facilities, warehousing, and retail floors into an efficient system. In March 2019, it has announced a partnership with Andreas Laubner GmbH that is based in Germany. The latter specializes in automatic identification solutions, barcode technology, data capture, and office machine technique. With this arrangement, Laubner is expected to complete its product portfolio to be made available for sale to customers in distribution centers, manufacturing, warehousing throughout the European Union. On the other hand, there are expansions beyond Europe onto other countries as well. For instance, Jungheinrich AG, a leading company operating in this market around the globe expanded its spare parts logistics capacities to South East Asia in April 2019. Moreover, the Hamburg based K?rber AG group that operates in sectors that are inclusive of Logistics Systems, among others has acquired a majority stake in Cohesio Group Ltd. an Australian based company that is a leading integrator of voice-directed and autonomous mobile robotics solutions for logistics. The objective is to strengthen K?rber AG’s Business Area Logistics Systems with Cohesio’s broad product and service portfolio that is technology-oriented and would complement the Logistics Systems section of K?rber AG with its pioneering deployment of autonomous mobile robotics solution in the region.
