The MagLev (Magnetic Levitation) ventricular assist device (VAD), also known as a magnetic levitation artificial heart, is an advanced medical device used to treat severe heart failure. The magnetic levitation VAD belongs to the third generation of centrifugal pump type VAD, which uses full magnetic levitation or magnetic-fluid hybrid levitation bearing technology.

Currently, the global magnetic levitation ventricular assist device (VAD) market is monopolized by Abbott's HeartMate 3, which has now become the most commonly used left ventricular assist device (LVAD) in the world, with a market share of over 80%.

Medtronic's HeartWare HVAD (magnetic fluid hybrid suspension ventricular assist device) is the second largest VAD device in market share after Abbott's HeartMate 3, but due to serious adverse events, the product was announced to be delisted and sales stopped in June 2021. This undoubtedly reinforces Abbott's monopoly in the VAD market.
