Kite Realty Group Trust, a real estate company, engages in the ownership, operation, management, leasing, acquisition, construction, expansion and development of neighborhood and community shopping centers and certain commercial real estate properties in selected growth markets in the United States. The company also provides real estate facility management, construction, development and other advisory services to third parties.

As of December 31, 2007, the company owned interests in a portfolio of 50 retail operating properties totaling approximately 7.4 million square feet of gross leasable area; and 11 retail properties in its development/redevelopment pipeline.

The company also owns interests in 4 commercial operating properties totaling approximately 563,000 square feet of net rentable area and an associated parking garage, all located in Indiana.

In January 2007, the company purchased approximately 10 acres of land in Naples, Florida. In March 2007, it purchased approximately 105 acres of land in Apex, North Carolina. In August 2007, the company’s unconsolidated joint venture with Prudential Real Estate Investors purchased approximately 17 acres of land in Cary, North Carolina. In August 2007, it purchased approximately 14 acres of land in South Elgin, Illinois.

The company’s major tenants include Lowe’s Home Improvement, Circuit City, Publix, Marsh Supermarkets, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ross Stores, Wal-Mart, Target, Federated Department Stores, and Home Depot.

Tax Status

The company has elected to be taxed as a REIT, as such it is obligated to distribute 90% of its ordinary taxable income annually to its shareholders.
