Palmetto Bancshares, Inc. operates as the holding company for The Palmetto Bank, which provides as array of commercial banking, consumer banking, trust and investment management, and brokerage services for individual and corporate clients in northwest South Carolina.
As of December 31, 2009, the bank operated 29 banking offices in the counties of Laurens, Greenville, Spartanburg, Greenwood, Anderson, Cherokee, Abbeville, Pickens, Oconee, and York. In addition to its banking offices, the bank had 38 automatic teller machine locations (including 10 at nonbanking office locations) and 6 limited service banking offices located in retirement centers in the Upstate.
The banks wholly-owned subsidiary, Palmetto Capital, Inc., provides brokerage services relating to stocks, treasury and municipal bonds, mutual funds, and insurance annuities, as well as college and retirement planning through a third party arrangement with Raymond James.
The bank provides commercial banking services to corporations and other business clients.
