About Fidelity Partnership 1996
Fidelity Partnership 1996 (the Partnership) is a limited partnership formed under the laws of Ontario by registration under the Limited Partnership Act (Ontario) of a Declaration of Partnership in 1996.
The Partnership was formed for the purpose of arranging for and financing the distribution of certain mutual fund units which form part of the Fidelity Investments Canada Limited Group of Funds (Fidelity Funds) sold under deferred sales charge plans. The Partnership paid a 4.9% selling commission to registered dealers on each deferred charge unit (distributed unit) of the Fidelity Funds distributed from March 12, 1996 to December 31, 1996.
In return for its services, the Partnership receives from Fidelity Investments Canada Limited (Fidelity) a monthly distribution fee calculated on an annual basis of 0.52% of the net asset value of all outstanding distributed units. The Partnership will continue to receive these fees for as long as such distributed units remain outstanding or until December 31, 2011, whichever is earlier. In addition, the Partnership is entitled to receive redemption fees payable by unit holders of the Fidelity Funds on the redemption of the distributed units. As of December 31, 2002 the redemption charge period had elapsed for the Partnership, therefore no further redemption fee revenue will be earned.
