Turkey: Country Profile
Turkey’s economy will slow in 2016. Cheaper oil and a rebound in exports should provide some benefits. Geopolitical tensions also hold back investment. Deteriorating relations with Russia will further complicate Turkey’s economic prospects. Inflation is uncomfortably high. Gains in labour productivity continue to be sluggish and growth of employment is slowing. Growth of real GDP will be about 4.0% per year in the medium term but the degree of uncertainty is high.
