Switzerland: Country Profile
Switzerland’s economy will grow feebly in 2016. The strong Swiss franc depresses exports and its future movements will be a major determinant of the rate of growth. Modest gains in domestic demand provide some support. Investment will be sluggish and actually contract in some sectors. The economy should strengthen modestly in the medium term with annual rates of growth in real GDP ranging between 1.7% and 1.9% in the second half of the decade.
