Plantation division main activities include planting and processing of oil palm, rubber, forestry and also oil bulking installations operation. The Group's plantation interest is held through its subsidiaries on Bursa Malaysia, i.e. Boustead Holdings Berhad and Boustead Properties Berhad and Boustead Plantations Berhad.

Finance and Investment

The company’s finance and investment services include hire purchase and housing loans, corporate finance and banking services, loan syndication, and treasury operations. The Company's subsidiary, Affin Holdings Berhad, is an investment holding company that offers a range of financial services. Affin Holdings Group of Companies comprises Affin Bank Berhad, Affin-ACF Finance Berhad, Affin Merchant Bank Berhad, Affin Discount Berhad, Affin Securities Sdn Bhd, Affin-ACF Holdings Berhad, Affin Moneybrokers Sdn Bhd, Affin Fund Management Sdn Bhd and AXA-Affin Assurance Berhad.

Affin Bank Berhad, has a network of more than 84 branches throughout Malaysia. Affin-ACF Finance Berhad is a licensed finance company. Through its network of 46 branches, it offers mainly hire-purchase and housing loans.

Affin Merchant Bank Berhad, Malaysia’s oldest merchant bank, offers corporate finance and banking services, loan syndication and treasury operations.

Boustead Credit Sdn Bhd is a credit company offering hire purchase and leasing products. Its main business activities are in hire purchase of motor vehicle and leasing and consumer credit. The company operates in 4 locations in Brickfields and Selayang in Kuala Lumpur, Skudai in Johor Bahru and Perai in Butterworth.

Property

Boustead’s property activities include property development of residential and commercial properties for sale, and property investment and Hotel Operations. This Division's property development projects are located in Taman Mutiara Rini, Skudai, Johor; Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor; and Taman Jernih, Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang.

Residential Development: The Company has developed 461 units of double storey terrace houses in Mutiara Damansara. The 461 units of terrace houses were completed and handed over to the houseowners in 2002. Mutiara Damansara launched 376 units of condominiums with a density of 40 units per acre in March 2004. These condominiums have facilities such as security, swimming pools, gym, landscaped gardens and covered carparks, amongst others.

Commercial Development - The CURVE

The Curves is a focal point for Klang Valley residents is taking shape in Mutiara Damansara. It covers an area of 60 acres shopping destination with names such as IKEA, Tesco and Cineleisure Damansara. The three major anchors would surround a pedestrian mall, i.e. the Curve comprising 120 shops designed with various floor sizes, nooks and corners as well as fresco dining courtyards. The pedestrian mall allows a central stage for music festivals, classical concerts, and other live performances.

IKEA, which operates more than 160 stores in 29 countries, and has a work force of 55,000, is a home furnishing retailer. The Tesco Group is a United Kingdom food retailer with group sales exceeding RM115 billion. Tesco operates 845 stores in 9 countries.

Cineleisure Damansara has 60 lane bowling alley, cineplexes, disco, video arcade and entertainment related retail outlets similar to the Cineleisure Complex in downtown Orchard Road, Singapore. Taman Jernih is a 36 acre development in Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang which is being developed jointly with the Keppel Group of Singapore.

Hotel

The Company's Royale Bintang Hotel is a four star hotel situated in Kuala Lumpur's tourist and shopping belt of Jalan Bukit Bintang. The hotel is located adjacent to a 2.8 acre piece of land which the Group would be redeveloping into an entertainment cum shopping centre. The Company's other investment properties comprise residential bungalows and industrial warehouses across the country.
