The report estimates the advanced boiler market in terms of volume and value. The volume market is estimated in terms of the demand of energy per year. The report estimates the market size of the advanced boiler industry depending on the type of equipment such as subcritical boilers, supercritical boilers, ultra supercritical boilers, and others. This analysis is sub-divided into various geographic sections, which are further broken down into a country-wise analysis.

The advanced boiler market is driven by the increasing demand for energy and growing installation of power plants in developing countries. The heavy dependency on fossil fuel for power generation and less capital investments made on thermal power plants compared to renewable energy plants has increased the demand for advanced boilers. Government incentive programs worldwide prefer to install advanced boilers in new thermal power stations.

We have used various secondary sources such as encyclopedias, directories, and databases, to identify and collect information that was useful for this extensive commercial study of the global advanced boiler market. The primary sources – experts and suppliers from the industry, have all been interviewed to obtain and verify critical information, as well as to assess the future prospects of the advanced boiler market.

We have also profiled leading players of this industry, along with their recent developments and other strategic industry activities. Some of the key companies profiled include Siemens AG. (Germany), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Japan), Alstom Ltd. (France), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (India), and Babcock & Wilcox Co. (USA), and others.

Asia-Pacific dominates the global advanced boiler market. In Asia-Pacific, China is the largest market, followed by India in terms of demand. Babcock & Wilcox Co. (U.S.) is the global leader in terms of the production size of boilers. The advanced utility boiler market in Europe and North America is maturing, and will subsequently provide opportunities for equipment replacements, upgrades, and modernization.

The report covers major regions such as Asia-Pacific (China, India, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and Australia), Europe (Poland, Germany, Finland, Italy, the U.K., and Russia), the Middle East and Africa (South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E, and Egypt), and the America (Canada, the U.S., and Brazil).

The report also touches upon various important aspects of the market. These include an analysis of the value chain, Porter’s Five Force model analysis, the competitive landscape, and raw materials used. In addition to this, 12 key industrial players of this market have been profiled.

In 2013, subcritical boilers held $XX billion in 2013, which is expected to grow to $XX billion in 2014 and reach  $XX  billion  by  2019.  Subcritical  boilers  are  growing  at  a  CAGR  of  XX%  because  in Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, the Middle East, and Africa, this technology is decreasing in  terms  of  boiler  units  since  they  are  of  an  old  technology  and  emit  a  high  amount  of pollutants.

The supercritical boilers market held $XX billion in 2013, which is expected to reach $XX billion in 2019, with a CAGR of XX% during the forecast period. Supercritical boilers are expected to have  the  maximum  CAGR  in  the  future  because  they  have  many  benefits  such  as  fuel efficiency,  high  capacity  power  generation,  emission  of  fewer  pollutants  like  SOx  and  NOx gases, and are cheaper when compared to ultra supercritical boilers.

Supercritical  boilers  are  closely  followed  by  the  ‘other’  type  of  utility  boilers  and  ultra supercritical boilers with market shares of XX% and XX%, respectively. The ‘other’ types of boilers include waste heat recovery boilers and biomass & biogas boilers. This segment has a high CAGR because of its eco-friendly nature and focus on European countries to shift towards renewable energy, especially in biomass and biogas-fired power plants.

Ultra supercritical boilers are the latest in technology, compared to supercritical and subcritical boilers. They generate the maximum power with the least amount of fossil fuel usage and emit least amount of pollutants. In most developing countries, they are in the R&D stage and are costlier compared to the other types of boilers. European countries have already established ultra supercritical boilers in their region, but Asia-Pacific is planning to install a large number of ultra supercritical boiler units. Thus, the overall scenario of ultra supercritical boilers explains that it held $XX billion in 2013, and is expected to reach $XX billion by 2019.
