According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global Feed Carbohydrases market size was valued at US$ 3921 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 6213 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 7.1% during review period.

Global sales of feed carbohydrases reached 829,000 tons in 2025, with an average price of US$4,593 per ton.

Feed carbohydrases are a class of enzyme preparations specifically designed to degrade carbohydrates in animal feed. Through catalytic hydrolysis, they break down complex carbohydrates (such as starch, cellulose, and hemicellulose) into absorbable monosaccharides or oligosaccharides, thereby improving feed digestibility, enhancing nutrient absorption, reducing anti-nutritional factors, and minimizing environmental pollution from animal excrement. This enzyme family mainly includes amylase, xylanase, ?-glucanase, and cellulase, and is a key feed additive in modern precision animal husbandry and antibiotic alternatives.

Raw material costs account for approximately 30%-40% of the total production cost of feed carbohydrases. Core raw materials include production strains (Bacillus subtilis, Aspergillus niger, Trichoderma reesei, etc.) and fermentation media (carbon sources such as corn starch/molasses, nitrogen sources such as soybean flour/yeast extract, inorganic salts, and trace elements). Of the raw materials, carbon and nitrogen sources, as major raw materials, account for 60%-70% of the cost. Using agricultural byproducts such as corn soaking solution and wheat bran can significantly reduce costs. For genetically engineered strains, molecular biology reagents such as plasmid construction and screening markers are also required. Deep liquid fermentation (the largest component) or solid-state fermentation processes determine energy costs (approximately 15%-20%), while downstream purification and processing steps such as ultrafiltration concentration, spray drying/freeze drying, and formulation coating account for 25%-35% of the cost. In addition, enzyme activity detection (DNS method, viscosity method, etc.), stability testing, and quality control systems also constitute significant cost items. It is worth noting that while thermal stability modification and coating technologies increase production costs by 20%-50%, they can significantly improve the product's activity retention rate during high-temperature pelleting of feed (from <50% to >85%), thereby creating higher added value.
