The market competition concerning generic products with expired patents in China is getting intensive. According to the ICAMA, in the first half year of 2014, 85 new registrations of insecticide technical were approved in China, largely increased compared with 48 new registrations of insecticide technical in the same period of last year. The relevant large number of registrations in H1 2014 is mainly driven by domestic enterprises' noticeable attraction to four insecticides, including thiamethoxam lufenuron, pymetrozine and spirodiclofen. These four insecticide ingredients were newly registered with 34 technical registrations in H1 2014, accounting for 40% of all. However, there were only three new insecticide ingredients initially registered in H1 2014.
