HEADLINE

Through the way of changing certificate holder, Hebei Wuqiao has transferred its 4 pesticide registration certificates to its wholly-owned subsidiary Wuwei Lianshuo, including 95% nitenpyram TC, 90% clethodim TC, 95% oxadiazon TC and 98% haloxyfop-R-methyl TC. Notably, Hebei Wuqiao now is forming the production capacities of nitenpyram TC, clethodim TC, oxadiazon TC and haloxyfop-R-methyl TC, with Wuwei Lianshuo in charge of the project.

According to Hebei Xingbai in end-April, it planned to construct a 1,600 t/a emamectin benzoate project. Domestic production capacities of emamectin benzoate TC are relatively low at present, with few of them over 1,000 t/a; and the operating rate of the product remains at low level, due to limited demand. Therefore, CCM considers that Hebei Xingbai will not turn all the 16,000 t/a emamectin benzoate TC into effective capacity. However, from the prospective of Hebei Xingbai's product mix, it is advantageous in the raw material for production of emamectin benzoate TC.

Conforming to the trend of pesticide industrial transfer to western and central China and to the company's own longterm development strategy, Dapeng Pharm planned to build a new production base in Liugou Coal Chemical Industrial Park, Guazhou County, Liuquan City, Gansu Province; and a 20,130 t/a high-efficiency, low-toxicity, lowresidue and environmental-friendly pesticides project will be launched within the new production base, relying on its mastered techniques. Through the project, Dapeng Pharm will further expand the production capacities of existing products and form large-scale production capacities of strategic reserve products in which a large sum of funds have been invested previously.

Hubei Tianzelong started to grasp market share by forming production capcities of 2,000 t/a chlorantraniliprole TC, 2,000 t/a emamectin benzoate·chlorantraniliprole 12% SC, 2,000 t/a chlorantraniliprole 20% SC and 50 t/a chlorantraniliprole·thiamethoxam 0.16% GR.

Anhui Shengli plans to launch a pesticide and intermediate relocation, transformation and comprehensive production project in its new plant in Gangkou Industrial Park, Ningguo City, Anhui Province. Through the project, the company will relocate part of the production lines from the old plant to the new one and build production line for products with better competitiveness. Notably, Anhui Shengli will not equip itself with production capacity of triazophos TC in the new plant.

In May, prices of most domestic insecticide TC products remained stable. As for organophosphorus insecticides, most of the prices kept stable at high level, because the prices of their raw materials stayed high, though their downstream demand failed to support the prices. As for pyrethroid insecticides, downstream demand was slack, leading to the decreasing ex-works quotations from producers. As for nicotinamide insecticides, the increasing prices of raw materials upheld their prices, though downstream orders were limited.

According to the import and export data sourced from Tranalysis, in Jan., 2021, China exported 1,165.67 tonnes (actual volume) or 57.36 tonnes (100% AI volume) of avermectin to 15 main destinations including Vietnam, Uganda, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

According to ICAMA, the registrations of 6 chlorfenapyr products were approved, all of which are compound products and are of low toxicity. Data from ICAMA showed that there were 166 registered chlorfenapyr products in China, by end-May, including 66 compound formulation, 87 single-agent and 13 TC products. Chlorfenapyr has become one of the most high-profile insecticides in China. It is believed that China will see more registrations of chlorfenapyr compound products.

The MOA issued a notice in mid-May, requiring local governments to pay efforts in field management and disaster prevention to ensure summer grain harvest. It was reported that the high-incidence season for convective weather has arrived in China, affected by the superimposed impacts from warm and humid air from the south and dry and cold air in upper trough. For the sake of ensuring harvest, MOA gave guidance from 5 perspectives such as strengthening responsibility shouldered, monitoring and pre-warning, field management, disaster prevention and relief and cross-regional mechanical harvest.

Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region saw heavy precipitation in May when rice in most areas were in tillering stage. The heavy precipitation and tillering-stage rice were both good for the development of pests. The local government has issued warning and provided guidance to rice growers for prevention and control of pests on rice.
