Acaricides are chemical substances (organic/inorganic) that are used to kill ticks and mites. They are widely used in agriculture and animal husbandry to protect crops and cattle from mites and ticks (members of acarina). They are also found in animal products to protect pets such as cats and dogs from mites and ticks. The acaricides market is growing steadily due to increase in the demand of the crops and animal products.

Asia-Pacific and Europe were the top two consumers of acaricides in the world, having collectively accounted for around 54% of the consumption of acaricides in 2013. The Asia-Pacific is estimated to be the fastest growing market for acaricides, in terms of value. Growth is particularly high in countries such as China, India, and Japan where agriculture and animal rearing is the major source of economy for the country. Agriculture and animal husbandry accounted for around 26.9% and 25% respectively, of the global acaricides market in the year 2013. The market is driven by the increase in the productivity and increase in the demand of crops and animal products. The main restraints of the market are the strict regulatory norms by the government and the rising cost of acaricides.
