Caldic Takes on Nan Ya’s Phthalate-free Plasticiser
02 Sep 2010 • by Natalie Aster
Innua Europe, the Belgian subsidiary of Innua Petrochem, and French chemicals supplier Caldic Specialites have established a partnership to market and distribute Nan Ya Plastic Corporation’s DHEH phthalate-free plasticiser in France.
DHEH (1,2 Cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid, bis (2-ethylhexyl) ester) is free of phthalates, heavy metals and butylhydroxytoluene, according to Innua Europe. The plasticiser is also pre-registered for REACH, conforms to the European Toys Standard and is cleared by the US FDA for use in some food-contact applications.
Caldic Specialites general manager Xavier Batteux says the intention is to capitalise on expanding demand for phthalate-free plasticisers.
“Nan Ya’s many years of successful plasticiser development has enabled the production of a quality phthalate-free product that we feel has the potential to replace phthalate plasticisers such as DEHP and, in some applications, DINP,” he said.
Brussels-based Innua Europe specialises in the importation and distribution of PVC and plasticisers into Europe. It is Taiwan-based Nan Ya Plastic Corporation’s marketing partner in Europe.
