LONDON – China's demand for polybutadiene rubber (butadiene rubber, BR) has grown at a rapid pace over the last ten years. Moving forward, both production and demand will likely continue to gain traction.
Polybutadiene is the 2nd biggest volume synthetic rubber made, alongside with styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR).
Polybutadiene rubber gives the properties such as high resistance to wear due to the low coefficient of friction (CoF) and strength characteristics, superior elastic properties and low hysteresis losses, and low temperature resistance. Polybutadiene rubber is chiefly utilised in the production of tires, which consumes close to 70% of the total production.
Going forward, polybutadiene is projected to keep on being a high volume rubber used in the tyre industry, in golf balls production, and as an additive to enhance the toughness of plastics owing to its availability, low cost and unmatched properties. The development of new markets is likely result in an upsurge in the need to develop novel, higher performance grades of BR using both the Ziegler and alkyllithium systems alike.
New research study “Polybutadiene Rubber Markets in China” drawn up by AMID presents an unprejudiced analysis of the market on a national scale.
The report casts light on the business environment in China, covering economic trends, industrial output, foreign investment environment, foreign trade, population and labour, banking system and regulations, etc. The research gives an analysis of the polybutadiene rubber industry, shedding light on the industry structure; capacity, production and demand; key end-use sectors; key BR manufacturers, their facilities, shares; potential market entrants; technology developments; polybutadiene rubber prices in China, among others. The study provides data on production of and demand for polybutadiene rubber; product consumption by market; examines the market entry channels. Furthermore, the report canvases the leading polybutadiene rubber industry participants. Top domestic producers are profiled in the report.
Historical data are provided for 2006, 2011 and 2016; and long-term forecast figures are offered till 2021 and through to 2026.
