Chilean Wealth Sector Analysed in Comprehensive WealthInsight Report Available at MarketPublishers.com

LONDON – The number of Chilean high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) surged by 3.2% in 2014 reaching 45,294, with their combined wealth standing at USD 261.9 billion. In the same year, the country had 687 ultra high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), whose per capita wealth equaled USD 141.2 million on average, making them the core target group for wealth industry leaders. Over the forecast period, growth in HNWI numbers and wealth will likely improve. The number of the country’s HNWIs is set to increase by 20.8% to amount to 56,256 by 2019, whilst their wealth is poised to grow by 36.4% and reach the USD 371 billion mark.

Santiago is the top-performing city for HNWIs. Its HNWI population grew from 16,135 in 2010 to 19,280 by 2014-end.

Real estate was the dominant asset class for Chile’s HNWIs in 2014, accounting for 28.5% of their overall assets. It was followed by equities (19.2%), business interests (15%), cash (14%), fixed income (13.4%) and alternatives (10%).

Chilean HNWIs held USD 100.5 billion (just under 38.5%) of their wealth outside their native country as of 2014, which is more compared to the world average of 20-30%.
