Wilson A.S.A. Vessel Receives Environmental Award

24 Nov 2015 • by Natalie Aster

LONDON – “Wilson Dover”, an 87.42m general cargo vessel of Wilson A.S.A., was recognised by Greenport Magazine as the most eco-friendly vessel of 2014 to call at the ports of Bremerhaven and Bremen. The level of emissions of “Wilson Dover” is lower than the level of its competitors’ and is well below the prescribed limits.

Wilson A.S.A. is a Norwegian sea transportation company, which offers its bulk freighters and general cargo vessels mainly to domestic and European customers. The company’s fleet consist of 111 vessels together carrying around 14 million tonnes of cargo annually.

As of FY 2014, the revenues of Wilson A.S.A. registered YoY growth by 3.62% and reached SEK 277.9 million. In the same year, the company’s operating income also witnessed significant YoY growth by 51.46% and climbed to SEK 15.6 million. However, the company’s net income declined from SEK 11.4 million to SEK 5.6 million (down by more than 50%). Nevertheless, the fact that net income numbers are in black for the second year in a row (compared to the negative numbers of 2011-2012 FYs) is a positive sign for the company.
