Jarir Marketing Company Announces Board Changes According to BAC Report

LONDON – It was announced that the Board of Directors of Jarir Marketing Company appointed Mr. Muhammad Abdulrahman Al Agil as the Chairman of the Board and Mr. Abdullah Abdulrahman Al Agil as the Managing Director. Also there were made some changes in the Board Committees during the 10th Annual Board meeting held on March 12, 2013.

In the financial year ended December 31, 2012 Jarir Marketing Company showed good results. Its revenue increased by 11.7% to SAR 4.6B in comparison with SAR 4.1B in 2011. Gross profit rose to SAR 691.5M which is a 9.6% growth against the previous year with SAR 631.2M. Operating income added 11% and amounted SAR 562M, net income increased by 11.1% to 569.8M. Saudi Arabia was the main revenue-generating region with 93% share. Other countries contributed only 7%. Concerning segment structure of company revenue, retailing accounted for 92% of total company’s revenues, wholesaling share was 8%.

Based in Riyadh (the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Jarir Marketing Company engages in retail and wholesale trading of office and school supplies, children toys, educational aids, office furniture, engineering equipment, computers and computer accessories in Saudi Arabia and in other GCC countries. Company’s activities are divided into two branches: Jarir Bookstore, the retail division, and Jarir Marketing, the wholesale division.
