Duni AB Appointed New CEO, According to BAC Report

LONDON – In November 2011 Duni AB announced the appointment of new CEO, Tomas Gustafsson. Since 2009 Mr Gustafsson has been a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He assumed office on December 1, 2012.

Mr Gustafsson is a highly experienced specialist in the HORECA sector. Executive positions at Mellby Gard AB, Eckes Granini GmbH, Bramhults Juice AB and at Spendrups Bryggeri AB gave Tomas irreplaceable practice on managing fast moving consumer goods.

Duni has established strong market position during the last years, although general condition of the HORECA sector put significant influence on the company’s performance. Thus, the year ended December 2011 brought noticeable decrease in company’s financials. Revenue and gross profit lost 4.1% and 2% respectively, and equaled SEK 3.8 B and SEK 1 B. operating and net income fell down by 11% and 15% respectively, and stopped at SEK 388 M and SEK 261 M.

Quarterly results for the periods of 2012 reveal further decline in results, and the annual numbers for 2012 are expected to be lower than the previous year. Q3 ended September 30th showed revenue of SEK 849 M, gross profit of SEK 207 M, operating income of SEK 62 M, net income of SEK 48 M.

Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Malmo (Sweden), Duni AB engages in design and manufacture of table setting and take-away sets. Those include candles, napkins, tablecoverings, plates & serving items, cutlery, cups, glasses, food packaging containers, serving accessories. The production sites are located in Sweden, Poland and Germany. Sales representatives distribute company’s products in 17 European countries. Duni trades on Stockholm Stock Exchange under the ticker DUNI.
